photo: Me and my wife, Rose website: NEW NEW NEW http://belasco.zenfolio.com I sit atop an Andros Pine tree. Beside me an Osprey shifts it's head back and forth to determine the depth of water the fish it plans to attack is at. It's talons are unfurled and my senses sharpened as we begin the dive. I will follow him as his talons strike the fish OR we pull up or hit the water! Whatever the case... The Tri-Colored Heron sits in a quite secluded Mangrove Wetland pond in the evening sunset light. I have a prickle bothering my wing. I don't feel it when I fly, but with my wings folded--the sand spur irrates me. One has to be a contortionist to get to these difficult spots! The title of being a Great Blue Heron is sometimes less than Great! My beak is sore from carrying twigs back to 'Our" nest. It's only OUR nest when we need more twigs! Otherwise it's 'her nest'...It's been a busy morning carrying twigs and branches. The Wife checks each one I carry to the nest--looking them over for any imperfection before she accepts them--putting me on pins and needles all the time!! Now she wants bigger and stronger branches that I much break off from the tree itself!! I'm thinking of dropping the "Great" surname from my title!! Hope you've been along for the ride?
