boats are ripped from their moorings and washed ashore. It happens with such frequency that this particular stretch of water is called "Fool's Anchorage" . Not only does the owner suffer the loss of his/her boat, but he/she has to repay the city for the removal of the destroyed boat, which can amount to thousands of dollars.

Image: This was a beautiful sailboat. It looked like it could easily be pulled back out to sea. However, the hull was cracked so the owner salvaged as many parts as possible and then seven days after being beached it was ripped apart by bulldozers and skiploaders then hauled away to the local landfill.

One might wonder why mariners continue to moor their boats in this area. Well, obtaining a boat slip in the Santa Barbara harbor is extremely difficult and a person can wait years and years as their name slowly moves up on a slip waiting list.
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=028244bc-d99f-4cc3-a808-c3eb6ea1fd95&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Parking

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=a10ecad2-52f6-47a4-9678-cce5d896e553&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Time for Reflection

Every year during violent storms in this area boats are ripped from their moorings and washed ashore. You can see it in the first 3 pics and I almost had success, even in the first pic the guy was laughing with me but in that moment come the police and the guy go to the border and jump in front us.
So I took my camera and start to shoot at the end of his life.
This are only few pics, and I deformed his eyes in respect to him. I have several pics of his fall to the cliff, about 30 almost falling in the air, but I only post this ones because I think is enough.
Well the point is I don't considered me like an artistic photographer I don't look for beauty compositions, etc. I only like to take pics as real as I can.
Sometimes I make PS work if I really dont like the pic that I post, because I'm know that Im not a good photographer.
Next post will be the pic of the Day that I would be killed by guns :))
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=4328360f-e031-41fd-b165-5dcba7d01602&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Work shop in the woods

Ices dads little work shop in the woods he has 2 more of these
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=850d0ffe-d9b0-4a26-9581-beb635e85bd6&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

ICE and his dad , and jean my wife

This is at ICES dad summer house
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=2707253f-b474-41d6-99cd-ff0a48b38c0d&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

|||||00......

..Men at work.

Turin September 009
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=6aac50a8-9f31-4691-b677-0e9f635055e6&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Incurable Energy

I sneaked out into the garden noticing dead corpses in various places at about 4AM.
This was just at about 10AM later......

After a 3 day party rampage before the going back to school time in 2 days from now I saw this a few hrs after sun rise.
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=c38d49fa-d234-4811-afa7-01f875074091&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Comrades!

Workers day on the 1. Players make base pitches by moving these13 bridges before playing.
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=5308a6e3-4874-44be-b7e5-06d9ff7118e3&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

WE HAD A PINT IN DUBLINS FAIR CITY

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=652379ad-809f-46d3-9eb2-50a36908944a&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Quiet roll up

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=ade193f8-a3c2-4ae8-b3e5-e54d58c58ddb&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Summer Lake

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=e6a6b7da-5b58-4bff-a13e-3650dea9dd5d&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

SHOWING THE FLAG

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=2eb7ea91-4b7d-4fc5-90be-52db363b5d32&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

C.CHAPPLIN

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=bafa3864-4bff-410f-ab42-3bb0429696ec&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

The killer struck again

D.
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=806cfcef-2ddb-48da-ac2e-c0fec58457d8&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Go Britain Go!!!

Britain on holiday
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=bb652aff-15da-4b09-bd42-983cb3ecd2a5&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Scene

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=1e0d0940-14be-4b26-8e8a-2f2fc9ab80f8&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

... All were at F/22...with shutter speeds varied to adjust for exposure. Posted details are for the center shot. Perhaps they exaggerated by putting something like that, because it was not something of good taste for many.
In my country, gay weddings are not legal yet, but they: Gays, lesbians, transvestites, etc. always celebrate some special days, for them, with ceremonies like this or some other.
I have nothing against them and I must say that I respect their way of thinking, after all, we all have the right to be happy.
PS: I have to say that I saw Joan Roca with his husband around there, LOL!!!
Now I know that he will make a big revenge against me.
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=2ce7ed1f-84f9-41ba-879c-70bddde113c6&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

In his world

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=0e0b4683-0948-465c-935a-e0e5053d30d7&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

ARTIFICIAL FLOATING ISLAND

THIS IS ONE OF THE "UROS" FLOATING ISLAND IN THE TITICACA LAKE.
UROS MAKE THEY ARTIFICIAL ISLAND USING ONLY TOTORA PLANT.
IT WILL BE A LITTLE SERIES OF PICS :)
MORE INFO ABOUT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uros
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=bfd9a517-ead9-4e56-8d76-f69718c39063&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Hungry Monster

Today this machine ends in just 2 hours with a great classical house,in the corner of my block, for Build a new apartment building of 7 floors, That I HATE:(
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=781bbf0d-c5fe-4cb9-99d6-1a0657201018&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

democracy test

dianavision
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=7bdf2821-5edc-421c-824e-b06d0b03e455&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

BUY A BIKE

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=8b308d6f-2c31-4014-bf05-5a57e889e609&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

WHAT?????

IF YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO SELL YOUR PROPERTY YOU would put a SING AS THIS? So now I can show this image with a clear conscience!
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=a286eb6d-f7b6-4ee9-96f9-9d608ecb0dfe&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Cotswold ice cream man

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=61552a98-6314-49c2-b90b-edc7550c75d6&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

R.T.R.

On my visit to the National Memorial Arboretum, one of the first spots I had to visit was the memorial to my old regiment, the Royal Tank Regiment.

The memorial shows a Mark IV tank from the 1914/18 war. The first recorded use of tanks was on 15th September 1916 when about 30 went into action. This was quite a small scale operation largely to test their capabilities in one of the largest battles of the war near the villages of Flers and Courcelette, in this battle alone there were approximately one million casualties!
Then on 20th November 1917 tanks were used in large numbers for the first time at Cambrai. Over 300 Mark IV tanks fought the first major and successful battle using this modern innovation. Cambrai Day is still commemorated in the RTR.

The German army went on to prove that tanks were the answer to the old concept of siege warfare which had led to the appalling conditions in the first world war trenches. Tanks gave mobility and fluidity of movement which led to the German successes in the early stages of WW.2. General Heinz Guderian is renowned as being in the forefront of tank warfare strategy.
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=a1257050-2052-465e-bb5d-16d7dc33e70b&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Vox scripta

Voix écrite :
Au lancement d'une maison d'édition. in that same moment I decided to leave the zoo so that my 3 year-old daughter doesn't see these cruelties and believe that is this way like should be the things.
another thing that it frightened me is that today I received an email about the punishment of a boy in Iran for steal a bread, you can see it in the web http://eduplanet.net/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=2039&parent=2533
the PPS file is called "8 years old child punished in Iran" IF YOU CAN'T LOOK IT IN THAT ADRRES LOOK IN GOOGLE LIKE "8 years old child punished in Iran"
I don't know if that will be real, or.. perhaps could be a creation by G.W.B to receive bigger support for a war against Iran, it would not surprise me but I find already anything is impossible.
God forgives us.
I HOPE YOU CAN UNDERSTAND MY BAD ENGLISH
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=1c381823-184b-4fd9-bdba-8478685558fd&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

The Law of the Garbage Truck

Many people are like Garbage Trucks because they run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it, and if you let them, they'll dump it on you.

When someone wants to dump on you, don't take it personally. Instead, just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. You'll be happier because you did.

It is… The 'Law of the Garbage Truck.' How often do we let Garbage Trucks run right over us? AND, how often do we then take their garbage and spread it onto other people: at work, at home, on the streets?

SEE those Garbage Trucks like the little boy in the movie 'The Sixth Sense'. He said, 'I see Dead People'! You can say: 'I see Garbage Trucks.' I see the load they're carrying ... I see them coming to drop it off.’

The bottom line is that successful people do not let Garbage Trucks take over their day. WHAT ABOUT YOU? What would happen in your life, starting today, if you let more Garbage Trucks simply pass you by? Here's my bet ... You'll be happier.

And… if you know YOU have been a garbage truck, it is not too late to change. It takes a bigger person to park your garbage truck for good!

Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so ...Love the people who treat you right; Forget about the ones who don't. Believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance ... Take it and if it changes your life ... Let it! Nobody said it would be easy - They just promised it would be worth it!

Excerpts taken from an email I rec'd. It was taken in early August at Balboa Park in San Diego during a Saturday afternoon walk that I do about 4 times a week in the summers. This was the one that I have been undecided on but I decided to post.
I like photojournalism and this was a rally that was Anti Israel/ American and Pro Lebanese, hence all the security. This girl was with her parents and near the end she was sitting down and I often wondered just what she was thinking. I bet she would have liked to been on the beach that day with her friends. I do not want to offend just merely taking a pic of this event.
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=79c1e613-4492-4c06-949b-6e12f964c90e&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

rescue at twilight

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=e3879955-dbb0-46ef-93a2-b02bd48d3061&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Tour of California

Tour of California taken at Stinston Beach today. According to the books "California Waterfalls" and "California Hiking", this estate was built in 1916 by George Knapp, the retired chairman of the board of Union Carbide. The mansion was a five bedroom structure that contained much sandstone (I read somewhere that it took twenty men fulltime for four years to build the estate). Mr. Knapp built a road to his new home and had a private waterfall that could be seen from his observation deck complete with lighting to illuminate the falls at night and a speaker system that brought music to the falls from the pipe organ in the main house. Mr. Knapp also built a system of locks to capture the water and a pump house to ensure that he could continue to run water over the falls even during the dry months. The house burned down in 1940."

For more:

http://ronbigelow.com/Outings/Trails/snyder/snyder.htm
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=86bf2cba-6c27-4b46-bb04-c972fd9bc432&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

farmers feed cities

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=70d4b43f-6a5d-46e0-93a0-1f7e977572e7&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

The Girl, the Flower and the Wall

Well!!!

Here is Maria...

Thinking what to do with that little pach of flowers she found. The shot has no real claim to photographic quality, it's just a record of "the day"!

This will probably be my last upload for some time, I am just too busy to spend too much time in front of my PC. So that now things are coming to life again. It represents fishing smacks on the beach, big hulls of boats lying on the hot sand, and the sea far away in a blue haze; it was a sunny day, but the sun was behind me, so one must feel it only in a few short-cast shadows and the vibration of the hot air above the sand. A story about Burt Munro who in the 60's and 70's set several land speed records on his 1920's Indian. The film stars Anthony Hopkins who plays the part very well, apart from the NZ accent which he did not quite get, but we forgive him. On the original bike Munro did over 200mph at Bonneville Salt Flats.

An interesting link is www.indianmotorbikes.com/features/munro

The bike was on display at our museum recently so I will post a couple of pics of it
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=f27cf765-551d-4b25-9191-efb04b19581d&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Aturem la guerra

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=b91843eb-c86f-4df9-87f2-85c2ea7493c4&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Eyes Wide Open (6)

Another image from the travelling exhibit, "Eyes Wide Open," with a pair of boots representing each member of the military killed in the Iraq War (now over 2400), and pairs of shoes representing the civilian casualties (now over 30,000).

Another prayer for Peace, as we begin a New Year...

May the children teach us...
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=493ba0f9-e4ac-4d36-aea4-84693f6adb34&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

A Year Closes... The final ice fall can be seen, together with the grubby layers of ground down ice falling away down to valley bottom. The ice arch would have a roaring torrent of water emerging at times of real thaw.

I wonder how far back this "snout" has retreated in the years since I shot this!

Once again, Kodak negative film scanned on my Epson Perfection.

Full window please for best viewing.
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=cbd55efa-f863-4c02-b6b2-80965055948c&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

THOSE WERE THE DAYS

WHAT YEAR WAS THIS ?
<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=7b568160-aca5-4a51-9977-6e53f388da9b&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

climbing up the walls

<pp:thumb>http://www.photopoints.com/main/photos/streamthumb.aspx?thumbID=e845d493-8464-4835-8c45-faef9d7baada&thumbSize=120'</pp:thumb>

Sink the F69

The F69 was sunk off the Wellington South Coast today (13 Nov 05) at about 1515 hrs to make a diving reef.
