Vervet Monkeys in Tanzania/Ngorongoro Crater, always observing the area for Predators with Argus-Eyes. If they shout loud, you have to look in the same direction and will so be prepared by their warningsystem. mostly it works:-)

PS; Today I will have to be full day in the private clinic and in the social security hospital looking at Betty's future treatment.
The social security use an old protocol (2008) complementary treatment and I'm fighting for they will give to Betty the 2010 protocol treatment, and looks like I have achieved, so I have to be full day in the hospital for finish it :))
Right now here is 3:30 am and I'm wake up from 2:30 making papers because they say me yesterday night that they will accept to make the 2010 complementary treatment protocol and we have to be in the hospital at 7:00 am.
If they really accept it Betty will be the first Peruvian that will have the new protocol in the social security hospital, >:0D

For Barb Frank: I wasn't going to submit another in this series, but she expressed the desire to see more.

Although you see cement and a piece of fence in this capture, these really are wild monkeys, free to roam wherever they like. They seem to like the area around the top of the mountain peak where humans come to look at the view. But, they don't even interact with the humans at all, prefering to laze around and groom each other.

Hunting a Sparrow in front my camera

I went near a nest of wilds Harris hawks and start to throw to the air alive sparrows, one by one, most of them flying away but this one have very bad lack because a very young male Harris hawk hunt it in front my camera.
PS: Today I had to take a hard decision with "Deja vu" my recently trapped wild Harris hawk.
I will put again in the wild because a friend of mine that have the biger birds of prey breeder canter in South America "EL HUAYCO" made me the honor of give me one of his birds of prey breed in her center.
And I think it is the best for Teresita.
So today later, because noe here is 5:00 am I will go for the bird, that although being borned in a center is like a wild because nobody touch it never in his live, but due is an inmature in his first month i know well that he will become gentle and playful like a dog and it is the best for Teresita.
I have some ones born in my breeder center too, but all of them are working scaring pests at different airports and crops of my country :O))

Yesterday I returned to where I photographed the female peregrine falcon with a dove in its claws.
The reason for my return was to locate the nest, which I found after several hours of searching.
Now I think I have photographed the first nest of peregrine falcons born in the wild in Peru, because although many of us knew of the existence of young falcons. there was no photographic evidence and no one had seen the nests physically.
I know that this is not a good picture, but is the first photo of several pics of the nest with 3 big chicks that has been sent as a documentary to the Peregrine Fund Foundation :))
PS: taken from very far with my old 75-300 at max zoom by hand held.

Looking around while I was riding in my bike I discover the place of the nest of this Harris hawk (Parabuteo uniscintus)in the midle of the city at the top of a big palm, so I wait to see the chicks but they are big and flying little by little very high up the trees and was dificult to take a nice pic, so I decide go to a cliff near the nest and wait, there I took this pic of her mom.

We have two Red Squirrels that frequent the bird feeders. They are so comical & fun to watch. Only hope no more show up...two is enough!

I know that I should probably crop some of the snow off the bottom of the image, but I wanted to show how deep it is. It was a blue sky day, thus the reflection of blue snow.

In the wild as usual at Avery Island... There are so many areas in our state that gators can be seen in the wild.. We can go along the canals ponds and find them.. I some times will have one in the yard.. :))) They are so much fun to photograph....

This one was walking from one body of water to another ... He kept looking towards me as he walked... I had to keep on eye on him and the other on the other gators that were near .. :))) They kept Shen and I on our toes.. :))))

I hope one day that everyone gets to see a gator in the wild....

...I could barely see the foal sitting in the grasses by the mother so I practically stood on top of Pat's 4x4 to shoot them. Well, okay...so I was standing and hanging out of the truck door, hoping I wouldn't fall flat on my face.

This is the 2nd image in my Wild Horses of Wyoming series. I purposefully wanted to leave plenty of the countryside in my horse images...to show the vastness of the rolling hills and the sage bushes & grasses where the Wyoming wildlife roam. It's no wonder so many Western movies were filmed there.

Work has kept me busy lately but I plan on spending some time with you all tomorrow! 'Oh no', you say?!! lol Have a great week!

This will begin a small series of my images of wild horses that I shot in September. I'm not one who will post 100's of them because I don't want to bore you...so don't worry! I hope you will enjoy the images as some folks have been asking to see them. I wish there was a 'Wildlife category' because shooting animals in the wilderness is an even bigger thrill and usually harder to do when they aren't in close confines.

I have to thank Pat Snelling Weiner for taking me out in the rolling hills in search for the horses...it's not always easy to find them or to shoot them at a distance. I was in awe to see them! We're both full of spunk and she is a good driver...you should have seen some of the rough little trails we dared to 4x4 over;)

Please excuse me if i dont have to much time later, but Betty had her second Chemotherapy and she feel very bad, with headache, nausea and very tired, so i have to be with her until she feel better, that is about in 3 or 5 days.
The Inca Tern, (Larosterna inca=, is a seabird in the family Sternidae. It is the only member of the genus Larosterna.
This uniquely-plumaged bird breeds on the coasts of Peru and Chile, and is restricted to the Humboldt current. It can be identified by its dark grey body, white moustache on the both sides of its head, and red-orange beak and feet.

The Inca Tern breeds on rocky cliffs. It nests in a hollow or burrow or sometimes the old nest of a Humboldt Penguin, and lays one or two eggs. The eggs are incubated for about 4 weeks, and the chicks leave the nest after 7 weeks.
This is a large tern, 41cm long. Sexes are similar; the adult is mostly slate-grey with white restricted to the facial plumes and the trailing edges of the wings. The large bill and legs are dark red. Immature birds are purple-brown, and gradually develop the facial plumes.
The Inca Tern feeds by plunge diving for fish like a Sterna tern. Its call is a cat-like mew.

This fellow played in the water just a few feet from our hotel room in Morro Bay. He rolled round and round for a long time, washing himself. I've never so close to one for so long.

Buffalo in the Mist

...a large herd of buffalo in Yellowstone National Park. Pat makes a great tour guide...and can drive in those mountains like no one else!

The buffalo are laying by a sulphur spring that is steaming. Sulphur kills the trees from the inside out in the area. You can see the white on the ground which is dried alkali and sulphur. It doesn't smell pretty, either;)

WILD HORSES

...can't keep me away from Wyoming now! Pat & I came across a herd of wild horses and I was in complete awe. We were lucky to have the low light followed by a beautiful sunset.

I'm on my way back home shortly so I may be flying into Denver or flying on to Edmonton when you see this. Pat & Mike were wonderful and I shall miss them very much!

The serval (Leptailurus serval or Felis serval) is a long-legged wildcat, of the family Felidae native to grasslands and brush country of sub-Saharan Africa.
This one taken in Kenya.
Buff-coloured with black spots in rows down its back and legs, the serval has a slender body up to one meter long and about 50 centimetres high at the shoulder and a small head with long, triangular ears; it weighs about 16 kg. The serval feeds mostly on small mammals, lizards, and birds, although it is powerful enough to kill young antelope. It hunts rodent dens with its long front legs and hides in long grass, using its acute hearing to detect approaching prey which it then pounces on. When captured young, servals can be tamed but they are difficult to raise.
