The miracle is that this picture of the Christ on the Corcovado in Rio Brazil came out this clear.Despite being jostled and pushed around by a huge crowd of tourists, my little camera performed like the little Queen that she is and took quite a nice picture (IMHO). I cropped it in PS and gave it a minimal sharpening.

The foreigner on picture asked whether I’ve seen the aurora. This question is one I highly anticipate and I will have this foreigner for a half an hour explaining for him how they look.

Every single time I am honored with its presence I gaze at its shape like a kid falling in love for the first time. I could stare at it for hours as it tiptoes across the pitch-black sky and I often do.

I wonder how somebody can ignore the sinuous curves of this astral serpent that is as fast as the wind in which it is carried. It makes me stop in my tracks, even if I am in the car. I pull over to admire its omnipresent sheen.

I’ve never understood how someone can dismiss the magic light show that is the aurora, even if they have seen it since they were born.

I will never forget my first encounter after being adult. It was late August around three in the morning and I was bathing in the hot spring of in the Highland.

The stillness in the air made me feel like I was disappearing into nothingness. I could only hear my girlfriend whispers when a perfectly placed brushstroke of emerald lit the sky. The moving canvas reminded me of Joan Miró’s paintings, so perfect and pure in its child-like simplicity.

This is one of my favs from my Death Valley excursion. Among other things, I like the way the hill of sand seems to be rising up over the foreground like an ocean wave about to break on the shore.

I had a hard time choosing the background from the Background Adjuster Bar ... any opinions would be appreciated.

Keeping Connected - Quadripartite

This image is actually a copy of a print that call a “pocket gallery.” It consists of four photos, a quadripartitie, that can be folded three times (^^) to create a standing photo-card. I use two-sided paper and print four other photos on the back, so that it can be shown with either-side out.

The photo strip measures 4.25 x 11 inches. Thus, I can get two “pocket galleries” out of a standard sheet of 8.25 x 11 inch paper.

While watching the otters at the beach an eagle came swooping down claws extended ready to grab this guy but he was too quick and just slithered into the water. Moments later he just came back onto the rock and finished its meal. Of course it all happened so fast that all I got was the tail end of the eagle as it swooped up into the trees.

Door County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin

The county is named after the strait between the Door Peninsula and Washington Island. The dangerous passage, now littered with shipwrecks, was known to early French explorers and local Native Americans. Because of the natural hazards of the strait, they gave it the French appellation Porte des Morts Passage, which in English means the "Door to the Way to Death," or simply, "Death's Door."
